Jessen Lane Farm
Wando, SC
After some trial and error, Ed J. discovered the trick to creating the perfect compost. He put a roof over his 3-bin compost system to keep the rain out and allow the compost to stay at the desired moisture content throughout the curing process. Ed uses the finished compost as bedding in his stalls and as a fertilizer in the garden. “Mixed in with decent topsoil, it retains moisture but still allows good drainage in the event of a hard rain – and man does it make things grow. Thank you for your work on this extremely necessary part of horse keeping.”
