Flamingo Way Farm
Littleton, CO
In 2001, Laura L. lived in Conifer, Colorado – a small mountain town outside of Denver. At that time, she had 22 horses and O2Compost helped her set up a free-standing aerated static pile system to manage her manure. This project answered the question, “Can we compost in severely cold temperatures at high elevation?” The answer was a resounding “Yes”.
In 2010, Laura sold her farm and moved to a smaller horse property in Littleton. At her new location, she only had a few horses so she purchased a Micro-Bin Compost System and constructed a hexagonal bin using six panels of plywood reinforced with 2x4’s. As before, this smaller system worked beautifully and she quickly became every gardener’s newest best friend in the neighborhood.
