This Micro-Bin system was built by students to compost pre-consumer food waste which is collected by the dining staff. Two student interns collect the food waste bins and manage/monitor the compost system. It processes 10% of the pre-consumer food waste coming from one dining hall on campus. The finished compost is used in the campus flower beds.
