Bragdon Barnyard
West Linn, OR
As a volunteer at Zeb's Wish Equine Sanctuary in Sandy, Oregon, Sister Bragdon got to see an O2Compost system in action and decided she wanted to implement some of their practices on her own property. (Visit the PROJECT page for more information about the Zeb's Wish Cornerstone system.) This Micro-Bin System composts wood shavings and horse manure from four elderly horses. The finished compost is used around bushes, shrubs, and in garden beds. Sister advises that although there may be hiccups along the way, "the key thing to remember is you can't really make an unforgivable mistake. At the end of the day, your organic material is going to break down."
