Big Hole Ranch
Gwinn, MI
The owner of this system wanted to produce the best weed seed-free compost possible since the soil is "very sandy and weedy enough already". The O2Compost Micro-Bin has been composting manure and pine shavings bedding for one horse and one mini since 2017. The finished compost is used in the garden and on the pasture. Unfortunately, with only two bins, they are forced to move the aerated compost to a separate storage location to free up space for fresh manure which is not ideal in upper Michigan where the winters are "long and cold and the snow is deep". The owner of Big Hole Ranch shares ... "I wish I had made either a larger system or three bins."
