Prior to composting with air, the City of Kelowna attempted to compost biosolids mixed with shredded waste and wood waste with non-aerated static piles. They could not give the compost away. In 1994, the City implemented the O2Compost EASP system and within two years they could not produce enough to meet the market demand.
