Don R. has eight horses on wood pellet bedding. He was looking for an environmentally friendly alternative to putting the manure in a dumpster and hauling it off site. After an initial consultation and design plan with Peter Moon, Don worked closely with Derrick Santos who was able to answer all his questions during the systems construction and start up. The NRCS has also been involved in this project because they have provided grant funding for this very first aerated horse manure compost system in this part of Connecticut. We are happy to report the NRCS has been very impressed with the design and finished compost product and have been using this compost system as a demonstration site for other interested residents and organization employees. Don says "The O2 Compost system has turned out better than I ever expected."
