In 2011, Lynn S. and his wife constructed a new home and small barn on their property near Dallas, Texas. Lynn knew from the outset of the project that he wanted a better way to manage the manure generated by his two horses, so he worked with O2Compost to develop a small three-bin compost system with a low-profile lid roof. Lynn uses very little bedding in his stalls, but he combines the manure with shredded tree limbs to establish porosity in the mix. He is currently using all of the compost that he produces in his newly landscaped areas; however he plans to shred and bag the compost in the next few years.
