This Benchmark System has been in operation since 2022. Mark H. was looking for a more efficient and environmentally friendly way to dispose of horse manure for two horses. The finished compost is spread on the pastures and on plants. The leftovers are given away to neighbors and community members. This is a top-down system, built into a hillside for easier loading (dumping) from above. Mark reports "We have been quite happy with it."
